School Psychologist Earns 2025 Best Practices Award

School Psychologist Earns 2025 Best Practices Award

The Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS) recently presented Bryony Rowe of Frederick Douglass High School with the 2025 Best Practices Award for Fayette County Public Schools.

Rowe has been a school psychologist for over 20 years in Texas and Kentucky, serving our FCPS secondary schools for the past eight years. At Douglass, she is also the speech and debate coach, PEERS social skills curriculum lead, and co-sponsor of the student-led Douglass Bandana Project, which promotes mental health, disability awareness, and responsive school culture.

“My favorite part of my job is working directly with high school students. I love their energy and having the opportunity to support them in their dreams for the future,” she said.

Additionally, as a licensed psychologist, Rowe is the internship training director for our district’s APPIC doctoral psychology internship program. She earned her master’s degree and Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky and completed an APA-accredited internship with Houston Independent School District (Texas) in 2007.
